Cafes/Bars/Restaurants in Rome

Rome has an abundance of places to eat and drink so travelguide2rome has composed a list of our personal favourites around the ‘Centro Storico.’  We have included some ‘toursity’ eateries as well, simply because the bill may be higher but the views and ambiance are well worth a few extra Euros in our opinion. All of the places below can be found in and around ‘Via di Tor Millana’, ‘Via del Governo Vecchino’ and ‘Campo dei’ Fiori’, the main areas in and around ‘Piazza Navona.’

Cul De Sac

This small, but good quality wine bar, serves small dishes as well as exquisite and local wines by the glass. The Cul De Sac can be found in the Piazza Pasquino, but go there expecting to share your table! This place is very popular and as it is quite small, the staff often asks diners if others can sit at their table and eat! What a fantastic way to meet new people and experience a true Italian dining experience.

Pastarito-pizzarito

There are several of these restaurants in Rome and it’s understandable once you sample one of their delicious pizza’s or pasta dishes. This restaurant is popular with tourists because the service is quick (everything is computerized) and you are able to choose all your own toppings and sauces. Heaven!

Osteria del Gallo

Vicolo di Montevecchio, 27 (near Piazza Navona, off Via di Tor Millina). This divine restaurant is just off the busy lanes west of Piazza Navona. The Osteria serves classy meals at a touch more than average tourist prices, but the ambiance and feel of the place makes up for this.

Caffe Della Pace

This funky cafe is in a small square just off Piazza Navona. It is a favourite hangout for the rich and famous and the coffee is amazing too!

Gilda’s Nightclub

This nightclub opens late and can be found just outside the Spanish Steps. Another place to spot the rich and famous and it’s the place to be seen when in Rome.

La Pace Del Cervello 2

If you want to dance, party and listen to good music this is the place to go to. The crowds are mixed from students to tourists and the drinks are reasonably priced.
